The sport of Skimboarding has been a passion of mine ever since I was growing up on the beaches of Tampa Bay Florida, USA. From the very beginning skimming with my brother, and cousins on round disks.. sliding along the shore in the summertime was so much fun, and the excersie was evident. ​As I grew older, the boards grew too...first elongated, then some rocker, then some guy (Tex Haines) from Laguna Bch, Ca. put some surfboard foam inside...you could reach the waves now and even throw water sprays.
Someone, somewhere along the way decided to start holding tournaments on weekends so kids could show off their skills and tricks...Someone told me, I should enter and show off my tricks..... Well that is how it all begin for me...just a kid having fun riding shorebreak waves in the summertime.
Now some 45yrs later, I still have that fire and passion for the sport of Skimboarding. I created Run Drop Slide, Inc for all of you who share that passion...
I truly hope you enjoy this site, our Team and our Tournaments... but most of all, I hope you carry on the fire and passion of Skimboarding like I do....and Run Drop Slide !!
